With all of the negative that is being pushed through our senses on a daily basis, and there is a lot of bad happening in the world, it can be easy to forget just how much good there is out there.
People are generally good. Most of us want to do the right thing, even when we cannot always agree on what it right. There is more in common than there is different across all sections of humanity.
Some time ago while I watched as my wife was treated with all manner of chemical and surgical methods for cancer, I was encouraged to keep a daily journal of what was good in my life, and the good things that happened over the course of that day. To my great surprise, the first day I filled two pages – mostly with things that had happened that day.
It didn’t change the predicament that we were in, but it did change my perception of life, which allowed me to then change how I dealt with things.
